Young Leaders from Blayney Public School, Neville Public School, Millthorpe Public School, Trunkey Public School, Mandurama Public School, Carcoar Public School, Lyndhurst Public School and Blayney High School all attended to learn about different ways in which they could improve their schools with their leadership skills.
Guest speaker at the event was Ms Pam Ryan, author of her first book, 'Leadership in Education: Learning from Experience'.
Ms Ryan recently returned to Australia following a leadership role held for four years as Director of an International Schools cluster in Hong Kong.
As a former Principal of Orange High School and a former Councillor of Orange City Council, Ms Ryan was delighted to return to the area and speak about a topic that she was most familiar and passionate about - the value of leadership in schools.
She encouraged the students in attendance to engage in discussion about ways in which their leadership skills could be expanded and how these skills could help improve communities.
Some skills which were brought up by the young leaders present were decision making processes in leadership roles and building relationships with peers.
Blayney Shire Mayor, Scott Ferguson, and Blayney High School Principal, Sue Jones attended the event with other school as well as business and community leaders.
