The project will be removing large willows and other weeds from the river banks, providing stock-proof fencing to neighbours along the river and creating opportunities for the community and council to work together on making the environment of Carcoar better for everyone.
Once the tree removal works are completed, tree planting will begin, replacing the removed trees with native trees, shrubs and grasses.
A meeting for the community will be held before the works start to help residents understand what will be happening on site and to provide an opportunity to ask questions of council and the local contractor who will be doing the work.
If you have an interest in protecting the local environment, the Carcoar Urban Landcare group will also be there to answer questions and accept new memberships.
The meeting will be held at Pound Flat, Carcoar at 11am on Saturday July 11, 2015
To get there turn off the highway at Icely St into Carcoar then turn left into Coombing St and you will see the meeting set up on the flats near the river.
The project has been funded by the NSW Government through its Environmental Trust and Blayney Shire Council.
