Blayney residents can help as a volunteer for the 2015 Red Shield Doorknock Appeal which will be held on May 30 and 31.
Giving generously during the appeal also makes the great work of the Salvos possible.
David Grounds of the Salvation Army spoke to students at Blayney Public last week about the importance of helping out.
Captain Grounds said the Red Shield Appeal is one of the easiest ways to help change lives around Australia.
"With your help we provide hot meals, accommodation, emotional support, emergency relief, financial counselling, addiction recovery services and many other forms of care," Captain Grounds said.
"By giving just a few hours of your time on our Red Shield Doorknock weekend, you'll be part of something big - our army of hope.
"An army that is working to see an Australia where no one has to go it alone," Captain Grounds said.
The Salvation Army is hoping to raise $3000 in Blayney and is looking for at least 28 volunteers to assist with the appeal.
