It offers fast and reliable download speeds, giving local farmers the opportunity to work more effectively with suppliers and build their business effectively without leaving home.
Telstra Country Wide Area General Manager, Western NSW, Scott Curtin, said the launch of Telstra services on NBN Co's fixed wireless network would mark the beginning of a new era for locals, putting a range of new services and applications within reach of local residents and businesses.
"Farming is the backbone of the Blayney community," Mr Curtin said.
"Having access to fast broadband can help farmers better source materials and supplies for their growing businesses. It also allows them the opportunity to video chat and interact a lot easier with customers.
"Fixed wireless on the NBN can also provide the bandwidth needed to get more members of the household online at the same time to stream videos and use a range of connected devices like PCs, games consoles, tablets and smartphones.
"We strongly encourage customers in parts of Blayney to sign up for Telstra services on the NBN from today so they can start experiencing the benefits of next generation broadband."
More than 750 homes and businesses surrounding Blayney are eligible to connect to fixed wireless services.
