The local Harness Racing Club held a very successful meeting last Sunday.
The six races were very competitive with local Browns Creek trainer Leigh Davis going home with a double and Bathurst reinsmen Matt Rue, a treble.
Local reinswoman Cynthia Bourke drove one of Davis' horses to win on Studleigh Becky.
Bourke works for the Davis family and was rewarded for her hard work with a winning drive.
Bourke drove the horse out of the barrier and was caught parked outside the leader but she never panicked until going down the back straight she went to the lead and with the cheering from the family and stable supporters, she drove hard to win.
Bourke has just come back from working with the Mark Purdon stable in New Zealand.
The Davis stable produced a very promising two-year-old called Browns Creek's Boy.
The horse was a good thing beaten at Parkes at his first start but driver Leigh Davis led all the way to record a very smart win.
Owners Ray and Pat Davis have always being great supporters of the Blayney club and it was great to see them win.
Bathurst reinsman Matt Rue - who a couple of years ago won a miracle mile - was at his brilliant best by driving a winning treble.
Rue won a double for Georges Plains trainer Bernie Hewitt winning with Long Dirt Road and Jungle Jasper.
Rue also drove a winner for popular Meadow Flat trainer Graham Bullock when he won on Virgin Tooth.
Graham, who has been a great supporter, also trained two second placings.
Nathan Hurst won the remaining race when he won on Kyalla Tee Jay.
Local trainers Carol Buesnel produced a third placegetter in It Takes Courage driven by David Mckenzie.
The Club would like to thank their sponsors for the day. They are looking forward to their annual Billy Soo Memorial Cup meeting to be held on Sunday, May 10 with a full Sky Channel and TAB coverage.
