Earlier this year, the state government announced it would fund a feasibility and scoping study into a 90,000-megalitre dam at one of eight sites along the river.
Central West Environment Council president Cilla Kinross said the information session was an opportunity to discuss the viability of the dam and the dangers it posed to the limestone caves located at one of the suggested sites.
“It’s about giving people a heads-up... coming up with a solution,” she said.
Speakers include the Nature Conservation Council’s Daisy Barham, Inland Rivers Network president Bev Smiles, Save Cliefden Caves Alliance president Bruce Welch and Neville Landcare Group chairperson Lisa Paton.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday November 18 at the Orange City Bowling Club from 7.30pm.
