Member for Orange Andrew Gee said the program was part of the Restart NSW fund designed to improve water security in regional NSW.
“Under the program, $366 million has been reserved to help communities prepare for future drought conditions,” Mr Gee said.
“The latest round of funding, worth up to $83 million, was open to more than 60 local government areas (LGAs) across regional NSW for urgent water security projects.”
Funding for a pipeline from Manildra to Cumnock and Yeoval was shortlisted.
Mr Gee said the shortlisted LGAs would now need to prepare detailed applications, further demonstrating how they would improve economic growth and productivity in NSW, while also providing greater access to water.
