Cakes are being baked, scarecrows concocted, horses groomed and, of course, the children are excited.
Organisers have been busy preparing the grounds and pavilions in readiness for the big day.
With lots to see and do, a visit to the 137th Carcoar Show is a must.
There are five rings of horse competitions, including one for Heavy Horses and another for beginners and Pony Club Members.
The Central Highlands Sports Shear competition will be another hotly contested event as the shearers prepare for the National Shearing Championships to be held at the Old Errowanbang Woolshed next month.
Yard Dog Trials commence at 8am with local champions competing for $950 in prize money and the Aramax trophy for the best Novice Dog.
All Prime Lamb entries are to be onsite by 8.30am for the judging and awarding of the WK Fagan Perpetual Trophy for the Supreme Pen of Lambs.
This trophy also carries with it two tickets to the RAS Easter Show in Sydney 2015.
Woodchop events in the central arena, which begin at 11am, always draw a keen crowd and this will be followed by the Whip Cracking competition, another drawcard as both senior and junior competitions vie for the beautiful Whip donated by Ellis & Son of Cowra.
At 1.30pm the Show will be officially opened by Life Member Slim Hamilton who has given more than 50 years continuous service to the Society.
This opening will be followed by the opening and naming of the new cattle shed, The Ben Lowe Pavillion, by our local Member for Bathurst Paul Toole, Minister for Local Government.
The presentation of the James Ashton memorial Trophy for the Supreme Cattle Exhibit will then be made.
In the Digger Bright Pavillion, the home products, craft, flowers, school work and art as well as photography sections will be exhibited.
Hotly contested and a new section in the home products is the "Blokes Chocolate Cake", iced, with any embellishments.
This competition carries prize money of $140 total as does the Feature Cake competition which this year is a carrot cake, recipe in the schedule.
In past years, the Feature Cake has attracted as many as 12 entries making this one of the largest sections.
These will all be displayed in the new glass cabinets purchased by the committee over the last two years.
Last year's photography section attracted more than 200 entries and it is hoped the display will again be just as good, if not better.
Of course the day would not be complete without food and drink.
Sample the Show Society's barbecue conducted by the Knox Family and their helpers, purchase a cool drink from Di Colman at the Drink Stall or a cup of tea, sandwiches and cake at the Society's kitchen catered by Chrissie Bright and family.
Purchase one of the Committee's unique Show Bags containing products from the region.
These hessians bags make a lovely shopping bag, promoting the Show and Carcoar.
Available at the Show from the Drinks Stall at $15 each, they contain something for all the family.
To complete the busy day there's the 'cleansing ale' at the Bar serving beer and Angullong Wines by the glass or bottle. Open from 11am to 6pm.
Any Show would not be complete without the merry-go-rounds and sideshow which are popular at any Show, especially Carcoar.
Come on out for the day, enjoy a family outing and experience the hospitality of the Carcoar Show Committee under the guidance of President Mark Richardson.
