At their meeting held at the end of last month, the Committee moved the recommendation following discussion on the footbridge, with councillors agreeing with the proposal at July's monthly council meeting when the issue was brought to their attention.
Minutes from the Committee's meeting made available to councillors stated that "advice received by Newbridge Progress Association that there is little likelihood that repairs will be made to [the] footbridge at Newbridge Railway Station".
"Correspondence has been sent by Newbridge Progress Association to John Holland Rail, following advice that it is under review in 2015, that timetable for review be revised and the opportunity for the work to be progressed," the minutes said.
Councillors noted they could understand community concerns surrounding the footbridge because it was in a "mess".
In other matters arising from the Committee's meeting, $154,000 has been set aside for the Tourism Signage Renewal Project.
It will allow work to commence on the project, with consultation through Council and Village Committees to be undertaken.
