But that's exactly what's happening in Canowindra at the moment where Nicole Kidman is shooting scenes for the movie Strangerland.
Curious local residents and snap-happy media photographers are flocking to various locations across the town as scenes are being set up and shot.
Central Western Daily photographer Jude Keogh was among them on Monday, when she took these photos of Kidman hard at work.
