UNDER 12'S MATCH REPORT
The under 12's recorded a very pleasing 18-4 away win over Mudgee on Saturday.
The boys played some good attacking football particularly in the second half.
Running with a strong wind, Mudgee was able to go into the break at 4 all with the Blayney boys.
However in the second half the boys wore their opponents down and laid on some nice try's.
Ryan Hunter had a top game and finished with 3 try's and was very unlucky not to be awarded a fourth.
Liam Henry scored Blayney's fourth try by running onto a good line pass and smashing his way through to the line.
The teams defence was very pleasing despite an early lapse, constantly looking to tackle their opponents in an aggressive manner.
Their were many good defenders on the day with Morgan Fuller the best example of this forcing one of Mudgee's better runners from the field just before have time with a brutal hit.
This really set Blayney up to roll over their opponents in the second half. Overall, a very good effort from all the boys who played some good attacking football. Well done.
UNDER 16'S MATCH REPORT
Blayney Under 16 travelled to Lithgow on the weekend in a hard game against the Lithgow Storm.
In an interesting game the Bears went down 20 to 18 for their second loss of the season.
The Bears defence was strong and many times held out the Storm players from scoring. The Storm did score first but Blayney's Benjamin Robinson soon crossed out wide to make the score 6 to 4.
Again Benjamin scored out wide taking us to a 8 to 4 lead.
Hard tackling was a big part of the game with Michael Heycox, Cody Smith and James Hotham leading the way.
A break by Casey Wallace from our 30 seen him race away to score next to the post and converted by Josh Farr took us to a 14 to 6 lead at half time.
The storm were constantly pressuring our line and managed to cross three more times and convert to take them to 20.
Blayney look good when they pass the ball along the back line and this seen Benjamin Robinson cross for his hat trick of tries. Taking the final score to 20 to 18.
In attack Hayden Williams , Zac Taylor, and Dave McKenzie were great. All the Bears deserve a pat on the back.
A quote from the coach: "The 17 boys who took the field today can hold their heads high and be extremely proud of their efforts. All the boys showed real strength and character. I am extremely proud of the determination and sportsmanship they showed today."
