LAST Thursday Brian Parker and his team from the Blayney Shire Council parks and gardens crew, together with Brian and Cathy Griffiths and Peter Williams of the Carcoar Village Association, planted dozens of shrubs in Kurt Fearnley Park at Carcoar.
The beautification of the park was achieved as a result of a funding provided by the council under the Community Improvement grant program.
The council funding was matched by the Carcoar Village Association.
"The planting was a suggestion made by consultant Jenny Rand in her recent Blayney Shire Tourism Strategy to enhance the appearance of the park and the village in general, thereby encouraging more use of the park by tourists and locals," Carcoar Village Association secretary Cathy Griffiths said.
"The planting is stage one of the Village Association's ongoing Village Beautification Plan with stage two being the proposed visual enhancement of the business area of Belubula Street and further plantings in Kurt Fearnley Park."
