Martial arts students from around the Central West competed at the International Koshiki World Titles Tournament in Bowral on the weekend along with Japan, America and the best in Australia.

Students from around the world competed all year round to qualify to get to the international world title.
Japan brought a specialty selected team of 34 to compete against the best with high standards of martial arts on display.
Shihan Lisa Carr said Koshiki Australia Ltd is the only system that Japan will compete in internationally.
“It was such an honour to have the country that invented the Koshiki system a long time ago here at the tournament,” she said.
“Master Hunshi Chiba is a wonderful man full of great knowledge in the Koshiki and martial arts system”.
Students from the Central West Martial Arts Academy were placed in the top three with 7-year-old Mandurama girl Johanna Bunt finishing in first and two second placings in kata, weaponry, and kumite.
While her 4-year-old brother Josh Bunt also finished with two second places, in kumite and kata.
Other students including Daniel Parton from Orange, Megan Bunt from Mandurama, Thomas Field from Blayney, Brandon McNabb from Orange, Brodie Cotter from Molong, Mary Turner from Blayney, Kelly Turner from Blayney, David Turner from Blayney, shihan Lisa Carr and Sensei Terry all placed in the top three qualifying for the World Titles held in Sendai Japan in October next year.
“We are all excited for this trip and can’t wait till October,” shihan Lisa Carr said.
The first regional championships for 2011 of Koshiki Australia Ltd will be held in Blayney NSW in March next year.
“Mark this date on your calendar as there will be some great action with Martial Art Schools from around Australia competing in March,” Ms Carr said.
