The circus is an outreach service of Questacon in Canberra and has been travelling rural NSW schools with fun science-based exhibits for primary school students.
For Rachel Martin and Namita Bhojani, who are both students themselves at the Australian National University (ANU), the experience working in schools teaching science as part of their field work has been a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Ms Bhojani said she wants to continue in the same kind of work once she has finished her studies at ANU as the program has been “the most amazing experience” of her life.
“It’s just been fantastic,” she said.
Ms Martin, who will be heading back to New Zealand to practice medicine after she finishes her studies said the circus had been “awesome”.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for little kids to see what we are all about and to hopefully get interested in science,” she said.
The last time you can catch the science circus is on Saturday August 7 in Bathurst at the Indoor Sports Centre from 10am to 2pm.
