What a big year in racing 2009 has been for 12-year-old Thomas Duggan of Mandurama.
His second last event for the year is the Blayney Long Track to be held on November 7 at Blayney Showground.
This year Thomas and his family have travelled somewhere on average every second weekend as well as normal club days at Canberra, Gosford, Kurri Kurri, and of course Woodstock.
There have also been State and Australian Titles.
Other events throughout the year include: the Queensland Junior Longtrack Championships held in Brisbane where Thomas came home with a First Place in the 65 cc 9 – under 13 years, the Victorian Junior Dirt Track Titles in Albury where he received second place in the 65 cc 9 – under 13 years, the NSW Junior Long Track Titles in Kurri Kurri where he received a third place in the 65 cc 9 – under 13 years.
The Australian Junior DirtTrack Titles will be held in Canberra next weekend so Thomas is treating Blayney as a warm up to this event.
“I really like racing and travelling around, its great fun” said Thomas.
He would like to thank Tom White who does all the work on his bikes (along with Dad), his sponsors and everyone who comes along and supports him and his brother Patrick when they are racing.
“Patrick isn’t riding at Blayney but this year he has improved out of sight and will be a force to be reckoned with,” he said.
“Without Mum, Dad and Patrick’s support none of this would be possible and I would really like to thank them for the time and encouragement they have given me and the miles they have travelled.”
Everyone come down on Saturday, you will see some really great racing and who knows – hometown support might just get Thomas over the line first!!!!
