BLAYNEY WOMEN’S BOWLS NEWS
Results of play Thursday were – R Hammond, D Hodson, J Claypole defeated R Hammond (swinger), D Yeats and U Stonestreet 12-5.
The competition was won by Del Hodson.
Birthdays – MJ Parker on November 24 and Mel Morgan on November 21.
Anniversaries – President Judy apologises to Judy and John Adams for omitting their Wedding anniversary on November 2. Veronica and Steve Garside on November 27.
The quarterly and committee meeting Thursday November 26 after bowls.
Hostesses – D Cook and B McLoughlin on November 26 and J Hewitt and N Morgan on December 3.
Our Christmas party will be held on Thursday December 10.
There will be a sheet on the board for players and non players.
Members are to bring a salad or sweet.

BLAYNEY MEN’S BOWLS
On Wednesday we had 21 bowlers for three games of triples and a game of pairs.
In game one, Hilton Goodacre, Neville Kable and Leo Marriott were too consistent for Terry Lowe, Gordon Holland and Peter Williams.
In game two, John Pollard and Rex Nowland defeated Dennis Dury and Kevin Baker.
Game three saw Jim Russell playing for both sides, once he worked out how much grass to take.
The team with John Davis and Bruce Gresser defeated Harry Crase and Don Eves.
Game four saw an even game with Ray Neely, Tony Cheshire and Man Mooney just getting home over Gordon Death, Graham Mendham and Peter Davies.
Friday night twilights saw 52 bowlers on the green with visitors for tournament trying to earn a bit of pocket money.
Results were – J Burns, N Annesly, S Harvey defeated D Yeats, J Davis and H Crase; R Neely, R Neely and R Meadows defeated the May Family; A Nunn, J Russell and L Stinson defeated D Martin, C Wade and R Stinson; D Thomson, J Drysdale and D Caldwell defeated A Boughton, A Thayer and W Simpson; D Hodson, D Eves and M Rimmer defeated V Woodford, M McAlister and W Eason; N Lee, M Delia and J Franks defeated M Brooking, R Buesnel and E Parker; S Connelly, K Ryan and M Kinghorne defeated D Hildy, C Bright and T Ryan; M Anderson and L Stumbris defeated M Mano and L Windsor; and there was a draw between T Cheshire, B Gresser and R Wade, and J Hewitt, C Prosper and B Prosper.
Our annual triples tournament was played in trying conditions over the weekend with 42 teams filling the three greens.
With the competition so strong we still had seven undefeated teams after four of the six games.
After five games we still had five teams being undefeated.
At the end of the sixth game the only undefeated teams came from Bathurst City with the team of Ron Hollebone, Barry Duffy and Phil Gray edging out Brian Plunkett, Geoff Thorne and Ross James.
Mario Ruggerio from orange Ex Services came third with five wins and a draw.
Fourth was Kevin Fitzpatrick’s team from Lithgow Workies with Ned Kurta from Molong fifth, Peter Knight from Crookwell sixth, seventh was Bob Hamilton from Orange City, and eighth was Louis Stumbris from Crookwell.
Round winners were, round one J Frame (Lithgow), round two S Harvey (Penrith), round three B Judge (Lithgow), round four M Lovett-Jones (Glenbrook), round five P MacQueen (Parkes) and round six R Stinson (Blayney).
With such a big turnout of visiting teams, a big thank you must go to directors, volunteers, bar staff, and a special thanks to the green keeper for such good greens, and the ladies for the best meals in Australia.
MILLTHORPE BOWLING CLUB NEWS
On Sunday November 29 we are having Treasurer’s Day.
It is open to men’s women’s or mixed teams of triples, casual dress.
Start time is 10am and we will be playing two games of 18 ends.
Nomination fee of $15 per player includes lunch, entries close Thursday November 26 at 7pm.
