THE first day of our main competition saw a large crowd come out to play. The first event was a stroke event and the start of the point score and eclectic competitions.
The winner with 100 off the stick and a nice 70 nett was Colleen Davis with runner up being Gwen Hadlow with 92 gross for a 71 nett.
Best scores: C Davis 70 nett, G Hadlow 71, H Keen 72, A Davis 73 c/b, G Goodacre 73, G Shenfield 76 c/b and B Tolhurst 76.
No one claimed the nearest the pin on the second hold but plenty of players got onto the second and the ninth holes where there was no prize for the day.
Audrey Davis had the first gobble for the year, with a three on the par three second hole, well done. Our tournament is set for March 15 this year and preparations are well underway.
