LYNDHURST GOLF CLUB NEWS

Another busy weekend at Lyndhurst with the club transformed for a hugely successful Spook night on Friday.

Members and guests really got into the spirit of things, dressing for the occasion in some terrific looking outfits.

Even the DJ got into the swing of things with his choice of songs ensuring everyone had a rocking good time.

As the major sponsor of the Lyndhurst Cricket Club, the Cowboys, we were pleased to see the local lads make it five on the trot on Saturday with a win over Wyangala.

Enjoying a barbeque back at the club, the boys said they are looking forward to the local derby next Saturday when they take on Carcoar. It should be a good match.

The weekly members draw was not won.

Kelvin and Brendan travelled to Portland on Sunday to compete in their tournament and enjoyed an excellent day of golf, alas no trophies.

Our home golfers enjoyed a social round. Good to see Matty doing his bit for Movember.

Don’t forget the club’s AGM is scheduled for Saturday November 28, commencing at 7.30pm and our Christmas Market Night is on Saturday December 5.

Until next week. Remember: experience is what you get when you don’t get what you want. Hope to see you stop and play a round at Lyndhurst soon.

SUNNYRIDGE GOLF CLUB

Saturday November 14, we played for Lester Kable's Memorial Trophy.

Three people paid a visit to the handicapper. The men's winner was Beau

Chapman, and the ladies winner was Dianne Bunt. Thank you Val for the beautiful trophies.

We had a bucks’ party from Black Springs so that made a field of 25.

Best wishes to Dianne Bunt who celebrated a birthday last week.

Another big working-bee this week getting ready for John Davis Day on

Saturday November 21 and Closing Day on Sunday November 22.

They will both be a three person ambrose. Teeing off at 12 midday.

We had presentation night on Saturday and everyone was happy with the very successful year. Hope it continues next year. Congratulations to all those who won trophies.

VETERANS’ GOLF

Sweltering conditions still prevailed, which made it difficult for the thirteen players who were on the course.

Welcome back to Barry and Pat Sutton who will be regular players with the veterans.

The fairways have plenty of run owing to the drought conditions but the greens are perfect, the best in the central west.

Winner today was Rosemary Body with 43 pts who also collected nearest the pin.

The Old Master, Trevor Morley, was runner up on a count back with 39 pts from John Sligar.

Once again Jim MacDiarmid claimed nearest the pin for the men.

Next game November 23. Please take note, start time 8.45 A.M.
