Lyndhurst victorious over Valleys

30 Oct, 2009 10:01 AM
Last Saturday the Lyndhurst Cowboys travelled to Cowra to take on Valleys. Valleys won the toss and they chose to bat.

Valleys’ first wicket fell in the 1st over when Gavin Hoad bowled J.Gunn for a Duck.

From then on Valleys’ wickets fell steadily with their last wicket falling in the 16th over to end the innings with a total of 69 runs.

Valleys’ batsman, Moss, top scored with 22 runs and R. Howard with 17.

Ben Battle was again the best of Lyndhurst’s bowling attack with figures of 4 of 11 off 4 overs.

The rest of the Lyndhurst’s bowlers received 2 wickets each. Gavin Hoad 2 for 13 off 5 overs, Tony Lees 2 of 9 off 4 overs and Luke Battle 2 for 35 off 5 overs.

Lyndhurst’s run chase started quickly with Rhys LePoideven repeating his batting performance of last week by scoring his runs quickly with some great shots and was dismissed in the 6th over for 25 runs.

From then on Lyndhurst had a minor batting collapse. Luke Battle batted through the innings to see Lyndhurst safely home in the 15th over at 4 for 72 runs.

Luke Battle not out for 21 and Joe Fuller not out for 5.

Man of the Match went to Ben Battle for another fine bowling performance.

This Saturday Lyndhurst will play Grenfell at Lyndhurst. Good Luck boys and “Go the Cowboys”.
