Justin Platt again made a match innings for Lyndhurst in their round 5 clash with Wyangala at Lyndhurst on Saturday.
Wyangala won the toss, took the option of batting first and lost their first wicker in the 5th over when Gavin Hood bowled Phil Tarrant for 7 runs.
B. Leach was next to fall when he was caught by a brilliant catch for Kirk Stanbridge of the bowling of Ben Battle for 29 runs.
D. Smith then joined B. Colby in the middle and the pair made a partnership of 46 runs before Smith was caught and bowled by Kirk Stanbridge for 16 runs.
Tony Lees then removed L.Morrison for 1 when he was caught and bowled.
A. Wilson and B.Colby then put on another 28 runs before Colby was caught of the bowling of Gavin Hoad for a well – made 61 runs.
Wyangala then battled out their remaining 4 overs to finish at 8 – 148.
Gavin Hoad was easily the best of the Lyndhurst bowlers with the figures of 4 -11.
Lyndhurst then started their innings of batting and lost their first wicket when L Morrison bowled Dallas Battle for 8 runs.
Rhys LePoidevin was the next wicket to fall when he was caught for 20 runs of L. Morrison.
Gavin Hoad then fell in the same over when he was caught for 0.
Luke Battle then joined Justin Platt in the middle and the pair made a partnership of 110 runs before Battle was caught for 33 runs of the bowling of Matt Tarrant.
Lyndhurst then surpassed Wyangala total of 146 runs in the 22nd over.
Justin Platt was 78 not out at the end of the play.
L.Morrison was best of the Wyangala bowlers with 3-27.
Justin Platt was again voted a well-deserved man of the match for Lyndhurst for his superb battle innings.
Lyndhurst takes on Carcoar in the derby at Carcoar next Saturday.
