New Tallwood Rural Fire Station opened

19 Nov, 2009 04:29 PM
Around fifty Tallwood Rural Fire Brigade members attended the officially opening of The Tallwood Rural Fire Station last Saturday, along with members from neighbouring brigades and locals from Forest Reefs, Tallwood and Browns Creek.

The new three bay shed, located at the corner of Tallwood Rd and Warburtons Lane, was jointly opened by Blayney Shire Mayor Cr Bruce Kingham, Canobolas Zone RFS Superintendent David Hoadley, Mick Veitch MLC and NSW RFS Assistant Commissioner Dominic Lane.

They also presented the Brigade Captain, Don Ewin with a commemorative plaque to mark the occasion. Everybody enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea in the Tallwood Hall afterwards.

A big thanks to David Hoadley and President Jim Cantrill for the hard work over the years in negotiating with the Department of Lands and the Rural Lands Protection Board in obtaining the land for the construction of the shed alongside the Tallwood Trust Public Hall.
