Two new staff members joined the ranks of Blayney Shire Council this week in the roles of Director of Environmental Services and Revenue Officer.
Leon Rodwell has stepped into the environmental services position and will be responsible for managing planning, environmental and building matters at council.
Mr Rodwell has been working in local government since he was a teenager and starts at Blayney after a successful career at councils such as Warrumbungle Shire and Shoalhaven City.
He said he was settling in well to his new position at council and identified the upcoming release of a new local environment plan (LEP) as a big priority.
"We'll be working with the community to help understand the implications of the LEP and its changes when draft document goes on public exhibition next month," he said.
Bronwyn Bolt is the other face at council. She steps into the role of Revenue Officer and has worked previously for the education department and other government agencies.
"I look after the rates side of things, like issuing rate notices," Ms Bolt said.
"It's been great, I've still got lots to learn because this job is completely different to what I'm used to."
Both Mr Rodwell and Ms Bolt are now living in Blayney and said they look forward to becoming part of the community.
